Visas and Related Services - International Office

The International Office (IO) is a recognized national leader in visa, immigration, and employment services to the Duke international community.  Its staff members have expertise in F, J, H, TN, O, and other temporary visas and in employment based Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR or "green card") status.  Many members of our staff have lived, taught, studied, or worked outside the U.S.  The IO works with:

  • Faculty and Administration to obtain and maintain appropriate visa documentation for international faculty, researchers, scholars, students, and staff;

  • Duke's international community to help people meet their academic, employment, personal, and immigration/visa goals;

  • The Federal Government, Congress, and colleague schools to reflect the needs of higher education in the nation's laws and regulations.

The International Office can help you understand the range of activities that your temporary status permits and help you take advantage of the many opportunities that Duke and the U.S. offer.
